This last week I worked on a contract for some buyers in the wonderful community of Stapleton. This community is 15 minutes from downtown Denver and 1/2 hour from Denver International Airport. A commuter train will be making a stop in this community soon to take passengers to the airport.
This community began as city organizers decided what to do with 7.5 square miles of the former Stapleton Airport. The master developer, Forest City Enterprises decided to try to build a master community with much of the street characteristics of Denver’s urban neighborhoods. Front porches, tree-lined streets, and high walkability are all characteristics of Stapleton. Additionally, they wanted a community that was sustainable and had an emphasis on efficiency in homes.
There are more than 20 home collections in Stapleton. Over 1/3 of the land is dedicated to open space or parks. There are 36 miles of trails. Residents enjoy dog parks, skate parks, basketball courts, 4 pools and a huge selection of sporting fields. There’s a variety of options for homeowners with condos, town homes and single family homes. Styles range from traditional, historic or modern.
The community is located near Central Park Avenue and Martin Luther King Blvd near the ‘Central Park’ area just south of I-70. Today a new part of Stapleton exists north of I-70 called Conservatory Green with several new home builders breaking ground and the Northfield shopping area with shops and restaurants.
