This week we learned how to write copy for our listings in our printed and electronic marketing. We start with the best photography and virtual tours in the industry. We carefully help the Seller prepare their home for the photo shoot and be sure to attend so we get the results we want. I ask my clients about their fond memories and have them fill out a journal about their home. That way I can draft copy that focuses on the positive attributes of our listings using colorful descriptive terms. It should give a prospective Buyer a feeling of how their life will improve in this home. Our marketing department makes sure this copy is posted all over the internet through a system that uses OUR copy and not the notes typed into the MLS system. The system is proprietary through Sotheby’s and is called CREST. We then use all of this in our special events such as broker open houses, charity events and public relations efforts that appear in national or local news.
